I have been kleeping pretty busy between Christmas gifts for my family and for others who have contacted me to make quilts and what not. Here are some of my creations!

This is a creation that my sister Katie found on Pintrest and sent to me to see if I could make-well I can. Although being my first one I took notes on easier ways of putting it together! Hopefully the next one goes a little smoother! :)
The Hooded Towel-made for my nephew Brady! He loves Brum Brums (aka: tractors) and he was in need of a hooded towel so I attmepted to make one. Again not one for following a pattern I just winged it, my next ones will hopefully come along a little better after taking notes on this first one!

Lastly is quilt for a lady that contacted me via Craigslist for a quilt for her daughter-hoping she likes it; as I enjoyed making it!

Well thats about all, I am in the process of making one for my cousin Stacey out of her old high school shirts, I am planning on finsihing it by our Christmas party on the 28th-fingers crossed X :)

Christmas Gifts 2011

Well, after getting married going on my honeymoon and moving about 3 hours away from home I found the time to make a few quilts for people for Christmas.

The first two are t-shirts quilts I made for someone to give to her son for Christmas. She wanted one from his High School days and one from his college days.

This last one was for a lady from Portland; her daughter did some cross stitching and she asked me to take those and put them into a twin sized quilt. The cross stitching her daughter did was amazing! I put them into borders and made the quilt.

Hopefully each child enjoyed their quilts.

In my new home I have a great sewing room it is just big enough for the queen sized quilts to fit and easy enough for me to move aroudn them while I sew! -

I am ready for orders so please feel free to contact me either email: k_spitz@yahoo.com or by -cell phone: 517-490-3418

Lee Elizabeth's baby quilt

My friend Katie and her husband Derek had their little girl on May 5th, I wanted to make a blanket for her and wanted to use part of the bridesmaid dress from her wedding. The dresses were black but the sashes we had were this beautiful green color. My sash wasnt going to be enough so I asked my friend Lindsey to see if I could use her sash also and she said that was fine. So the sash I used as the edging for the quilt. I used a black quilted fabric for the backing. It turned out pretty good seems how I really dont work much with edging!!!!

Lap quilts as an In Memory

I was contacted by an area woman who wanted to me make three lap quilts as an In Memory for her friend that passed away from a car accident. She wanted me to make them out of her friends old clothes and also incorporate pictures.

I used a pair of Khaki pants on each of the quilts then used some of her t-shirts and even board shorts for the rest of the borders and backs of the quilts.

It was a pleasure to make these In Memory quilts.

***Sorry I have no idea why I can't get these last two to rotate correctly!! Oh well***

Wall Hangings

So I had to wait until after Christmas to post this last creation of mine.
I made this for a coworker of mine to give to her husband, the Doctor I work for; Dr. Gerald Brown, D.O.
She got all of the pictures around for me and even had the fabric she wanted me to use. All I had to do was put it together. She also wanted me to add some wording on it, which was no problem, I believe she was going to give the wall hanging to Dr. Brown on Christmas day, so I hope he likes it. I guess I will find out on Tuesday when I get back!
